OLX Quickly Grows Sales Team Thanks to Drake Philippines

Executive Summary:OLX’s rapid and on-going growth in the Philippines necessitated the need to quickly ramp up the sales team in that country. Qualified people were required for mid-level through to senior sales roles. The challenge was how to find the right people with the necessary skills and experience to fill the vacancies – right now.

The Challenge:For fast-growing OLX Philippines, expanded sales targets generated the need for a larger sales team and more top sales executives. The company needed to quickly generate candidates to hire key people in specific positions. Finding qualified candidates rapidly is challenging, and lowering standards was not an option.

Drake Philippines was made aware of OLX’s hiring requirements on a popular social media board. Drake’s Business Development Officer connected with the HR Officer at OLX Philippines through LinkedIn, and a team presentation meeting was arranged. CM de Castro, the HR Officer, made the decision to partner with Drake immediately after the presentation.

 

How Drake helped:Drake’s role was to find and present the best candidates in the marketplace with the qualifications and experience for the position. In OLX’s fast growing business environment, cultural fit was also important.

Recognizing the need for speed, Drake’s experienced recruiters immediately searched their extensive database to identify qualified potential candidates. They also reached out to candidates outside the database who might not have been actively looking for a new job.

The top candidates were screened and shortlisted for the HR officer’s review at OLX Philippines. Endorsed candidates were then interviewed by top management during the final selection process. As part of Drake’s Talent Management Solutions, Drake Philippines conducted final candidate reference checks – a key step in the selection process.

 

Results:Drake Philippines successfully placed four qualified and screened candidates at OLX Philippines. The positions included two Area Sales Managers, a Field Sales Officer, and a Sales Planner.

One candidate, who worked for an advertising company, was not actively looking to change jobs. A member of the Drake recruiting team identified her qualifications and presented her to OLX. She is now the Area Sales Manager for its Automotive Department.
